  1. A kestral is a HAWK Falco tinnunculus of the 
  2. family Falconidae, which breeds in Europe, 
  3. Asia, and Africa. About 30cm (1ft) long, the 
  4. male has a head and tail of bluish grey, and 
  5. its back is a light chestnut brown with black 
  6. spots. The kestrel hunts mainly by hovering 
  7. in midair while searching for prey.
